The first link below, from the FT, has a good commentary on the Indian social and economic situation. It describes the huge imbalance between rich and poor, economic success and poverty but also asks some difficult questions for ‘wealthy’ european nations such as ourselves and Greece.

The Fidelity India China Fund, which is an option within most Irish Life pension contracts, has been hugely popular since its launch in October 2005.  The fund is split 50/50 between Indian and Chinese equities, but the Indian portion of the fund has not recovered as well since markets bottomed in March 2009. It is important to understand how widely different the two economies are. Zurich also has a specific Indian Equity fund.
